Annual International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC) - Paris, France

Description 
The contemporary art scene in Paris comes to life during the annual International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC) each autumn. Held in the gorgeous setting of the Grand Palais with its large glass dome, the art fair brings together the work of thousands of artists from around the world represented by 184 galleries and 3177 artists from 24 countries.

Crave Sydney International Food Festival, Sydney, Australia


Description 
More than 30 top chefs will be showing off their skills at the Crave Sydney International Food Festival. There will also be gourmet food stalls and a Night Noodle Market.

It wouldn’t be a celebration of food without a line-up of amazing chefs including Rene Redzepi, the creative genius behind Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, ranked second in the world. Rene headlines in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Takayama Festival, Japan

Description 
The Takayama Festival (Takayama Matsuri) is ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful festivals alongside Kyoto's Gion Matsuri and the Chichibu Yomatsuri. It is held twice a year in spring and autumn in the old town of Takayama and attracts large numbers of spectators, in order to celebrate the change of the seasons.

Main attractions of the Takayama Festival:
Display of festival floats
From morning to late afternoon festival floats (yatai) are displayed in the streets of Takayama.

Karakuri Performance
Several of the festival floats are decorated with so called karakuri ningyo, sophisticated mechanical dolls that can move and dance.

Mikoshi Procession
A portable shrine (mikoshi) is carried around the town in a parade during the two days of the festival, starting and ending at the respective festival's shrine.

Evening Festival
In the evening of the first day, the festival floats are pulled through the streets of Takayama's old town for about two to three hours. The evening festival (yomatsuri) is considered the festival's highlight by many visitors.

Grape Throwing Festival, Mallorca, Spain



Description
One of the most entertaining festivals in Spain which includes grape-stomping competitions and grape-throwing fights! Its story is not very clear but is believed to be one event in order to choose and collect the best grapes and get rid of the bad quality ones. Non stop fights, grape treading and tons of fun!
