USA Today is reporting about the Transportation Security Administration's experimentation with technology that would allow flyers' mobile devices to be tracked in airports. The TSA claims the purpose of this technology is to be able to monitor how long people spend in security checkpoint lines so that information about wait times could then be posted on websites and in airports, thus providing travelers with a valuable resource. However, any time a government agency wants to "track" and collect data on people there are legitimate privacy concerns to address.
