Ireland: Irish Airspace Reopens for Now

May 4, 2010 — Flights to and from Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic were grounded Tuesday morning do to volcanic ash drifting from Iceland, but the Civil Aviation Authority and the Irish Aviation Authority lifted the flight ban as of 1 PM local time. However, given the unpredictable nature of the Icelandic volcano, the situation could change and passengers are being advised to check with their airlines before heading to the airport.
