Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati.
It is believed that Lord Ganesh bestows his presence on earth for all his believers. It lasts for more than 1 week and is biggest celebration is taking place on the last day of the celebrations, called Ananta Chaturdasi (forth day of the waxing moon period).
