NASA Begins Discovery Repairs for Early February Launch

Jan 4, 2011 — NASA announced today (1/4) that Kennedy Space Center technicians are beginning modifications to 34 support beams, called stringers, on space shuttle Discovery's external fuel tank. The final Discovery flight originally was scheduled for November 1, 2010, but has had to be pushed back several times due to different problems. Right now the launch window for mission STS-133 is February 3 - 10.
