There has been no commercial airline service between the UK and Iraq since before the first Gulf War started in 1991. But that could change relatively soon if Heathrow's second largest airline, BMI, gets its way. Last Thursday BMI announced it is ready to resume London to Baghdad flights if the governments of both nations give their approvals.
